GRM has the knowledge, experience and capabilities to get the job done right.
A survey can be a stressful process. From the documentation review to the building tour, you and your maintenance program are under the spotlight. Our team of professionals will identify building deficiencies, develop a Plan for Improvement (PFI) to correct them providing you with the tools necessary to bring the building into compliance over a specified period of time through designated activities.
GRM Compliance Services has come to understand that most compliance strategies fail to give sufficient attention and weight to Life Safety Code Standards. This blind spot is evident in the fact that Life Safety Code Deficiencies continue to remain as the most frequently cited issue during the survey process. Because this blind spot is so common in compliance strategy, surveyors continue to focus their effort towards uncovering these deficiencies during the survey process. Our research confirms these findings. We have conducted a survey of hospitals of various sizes and geographies. According to this survey, over 40% of the participants responded that they were cited for deficiencies associated with the Life Safety Code.
The GRM Environment of Care program consists of regularly scheduled, on-site visits that include a comprehensive review of your EC/LS Elements of Performance, Management Plans, Risk Assessments, Annual Evaluations, EC Reporting and Committee Activities, Fire Drill and Alarm Testing, ILSM, PCRA, detailed review of your SOC, and Performance Improvement Plans.
GRM Compliance will review your existing Life Safety Plans to ensure that your fire and smoke barriers are properly identified. We have saved our clients significant time and cost by removing erroneously identified smoke and fire barriers.
Through a grading system, the FSES evaluation defines the relative impact of a deficiency or proposed improvement to the building. An FSES can be used to achieve compliance in lieu of correcting some deficiencies.
Our Surveyors will use a combination of your working documents and field surveying to identify any equipment you want to have located in your facility. Symbols will be placed on separately layered AutoCAD drawings. Separate layers will allow you to display or hide from view any combination of equipment you choose. We can help you keep track of items:
- Pull stations
- Fire Extinguishers
- Smoke and Fire Dampers
- Medical Gas Shut Off Valves
- Smoke Detectors
- Plumbing Valves
- Mechanical Equipment
Outdated schematics put your facility at a significant disadvantage. We offer state-of-the-art AutoCAD services to create or update schematics. Accurate, detailed drawings enable you to better manage compliance, as well as preventative and restorative maintenance programs.
Interim Life Safety Measures
GRM provides facilities a comprehensive review of construction and renovation projects. We will assist in compliance with The Joint Commission standards. Elements of performance will be evaluated to identity the need for Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM). Our comprehensive review includes written criteria for evaluating various deficiencies and construction hazards to determine when and to what extent ILSM measures apply.
