Life Safety Plan Review

Take your Life Safety Drawings to the next level – get better drawings, improved ability to manage applicable Life Safety Code requirements and more efficient tools to manage your operation.

We have assisted our clients by reducing cost, time and complexity associated with managing smoke and fire barriers.

GRM Compliance will review your existing Life Safety Plans to ensure that your fire and smoke barriers are properly identified. We have saved our clients significant time and cost by removing erroneously identified smoke and fire barriers.

What We Do:

GRM will update AutoCAD drawings to meet fire and life safety requirements.

GRM will review your drawings and suggest the best routes/locations for the following items based on the Life Safety Code® NFPA 101 LSC, 2000 edition:

  • Fire barriers
  • Smoke barriers
  • Occupancy separation barriers
  • Smoke compartment features
  • Suites
  • Exit passageways
  • Exit stairs

GRM will field verify and identify existing smoke and fire barriers providing recommendations and with Hospital approval.

GRM will develop a legend to identify each of the above referenced items. The routes and the locations of the compartments/suites will be verified as part of this process.

What You Receive:

Revised routes of the suggested barriers on your current AutoCAD drawings. The updates will be added on a separate layer within AutoCAD.

GRM will develop a revised legend to identify:

  • Fire barriers
  • Smoke barriers
  • Occupancy separation barriers
  • Smoke compartment features
  • Suites
  • Exit passageways
  • Exit stairs, the routes and the locations of the compartments/suites will be verified as part of this process.

Benefits of Accurate Life Safety Drawings Include:

  • Reduction in fire and/or smoke dampers requiring inspection,
  • Reduction in walls requiring “Fire Stop”
  • Reduction in door replacement activity as a result of missing labels or “non-rated” doors,
  • Reduction in cost for some door replacement because they are no longer required to be rated,
  • Allows re-allocation of dollars to projects that can further enhance your Life Safety efforts,
  • Allows re-allocation of labor to where it is needed.
